JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN CANADA

International students in Canada have the opportunity to engage in on-campus employment, with a limit of 20 hours per week during the academic semester. On-campus job options may encompass teaching or research assistantships, where students typically earn an average of $8 to $10 per hour. This translates to a monthly income ranging from $500 to $1000, or students may qualify for a tuition fee waiver.

Upon successful completion of their academic program, students are eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), commonly known as OPT (optional practical training). The duration of this work permit varies based on the length of the completed program, with some students eligible to work for up to 29 months. Subsequently, individuals who have completed their OPT may explore further employment opportunities by applying for a work permit visa, such as the H1B visa, demonstrating Canada’s commitment to facilitating the professional development of its international student population.
